Wemio is the AI short-drama / manga-drama creation platform offered by 北京微链复合人工智能技术有限公司 ("we"). Wemio is intended for adults aged 18 or over only. As Wemio's operator, we recognize the importance of personal information; we will protect your personal information and privacy in accordance with applicable law. Please read this Privacy Policy before using Wemio so you can make informed choices.
Beyond this Policy, in specific scenarios we may use just-in-time notices (pop-ups, page hints), feature update notes and similar means to explain the purpose, scope and use of corresponding information collection. These form part of this Policy and have equal effect.
1. How We Collect and Use Personal Information
1.1 Account services
1.1.1 Account registration and sign-in. You may register with your mobile number or sign in via supported third-party platforms (WeChat, Douyin, Apple ID, Google, etc.). Collecting your mobile number is required by China's real-name verification rules; declining to provide it may prevent us from offering AI generation, publishing or interaction features. When using a third-party account to sign up or sign in, you authorize us to obtain the public information (avatar, nickname, etc.) and any other info you authorize, to generate a Wemio account bound to that third-party account. In some cases we will re-verify and bind your mobile number to confirm authenticity and association.
1.1.2 Public account information. You may set your nickname, avatar, bio and creator-page banner. Skipping these will not affect basic Wemio use but may affect publishing and follow-related social features. Your follow count, fan count, work-use count, like count and publicly published series and works appear on your account profile. When we issue handling notices for violating accounts, the offending nickname and similar info will be disclosed.
1.2 AI content generation
1.2.1 Service content. We use AI model technology to provide short-drama / manga-drama creation services including script-writing, storyboarding, AI image and video generation, AI dubbing, AI music, subtitles and editing. To deliver these services we collect text (scripts, prompts, character settings), images (reference images, character art) and audio/video (dubbing references, video material) you actively select or input, plus your instructions. We analyze this to produce outputs aligned with your instructions. Subject to encryption, strict de-identification and irreversibility, we may use the data and corresponding model outputs to optimize our models. To opt out of model-optimization use of your inputs and outputs, contact us via Section 8.2 — we will handle within reason. When using AI generation (importing material, exporting content, scanning sign-in QRs, etc.) we may request mic, camera, photo-library, storage and clipboard permissions; declining will prevent the corresponding functions but not other Wemio use. For technical reasons we upload your selected raw material to our servers; some functions analyze face/voice material — these are used solely to deliver "AI Digital Human", "AI Voice Cloning", "AI Character Consistency" and similar feature outputs and not to identify or verify any specific individual.
1.2.2 Director Agent service. Wemio offers multi-agent collaborative production (producer agent, director agent, screenwriter agent, character agent, continuity agent, etc.). When you use these services, your scripts, world-setting, character info and storyboard requirements are processed by the relevant modules to produce a coherent series. The agents may reference your prior-step inputs and outputs across the pipeline to maintain continuity and consistency.
1.2.3 Models and algorithms. To offer rich features we use both first-party and third-party models and algorithms. See the "Model and Algorithm Filing Information" page on Wemio's official website for the model services we use, including filing details, application scenarios, principles, intent and operating mechanisms.
1.3 Browsing and search. While you browse Wemio (series, templates, tutorials, community works) we record usage. If you are not signed in we use device identifiers to record clicks, browsing, downloads, sharing and feedback. Once signed in we use your account to record clicks, browsing, downloads, sharing, follows, feedback, do-the-same, publishing, likes, comments and saves. When you search we collect and analyze your text-form search instructions and search logs and rank results by relevance and timeliness; some results and related queries may surface based on your search/browsing history. Some search info is cached locally to display results and history; you can view and delete local search history in the search bar. When playing series we may use the device's gravity, accelerometer and gyroscope sensors to detect orientation.
1.4 Publishing. When you actively upload or publish series, scripts, storyboards, images, audio or video, we request photo-library, mic and camera permissions per the function used. Declining prevents the corresponding publishing function but not other Wemio use. Your nickname and avatar appear with the published content. To improve product, content ecosystem and interaction quality we run statistical analyses on the duration, views, interactions and use of works you publicly publish, and may publicly disclose some statistics.
1.5 Interaction and follows. When you follow or unfollow creators, we create or adjust the follow/fan relationship. When you follow, like, comment, DM or otherwise interact with other users — or browse, share or visit their profiles — we may collect interaction info to keep the service stable.
1.6 Personalized recommendations. To show more relevant information and provide service better aligned with your needs, Wemio uses personal information and computer-algorithm models to predict preferences. (1) Scope: includes recommended series, templates, creators and tutorials. (2) Fields: device info; in-product behavior (search, click, publish, use, like, follow, browse, download, share); profile (nickname, avatar); other info you authorize from Wemio or partners. The system analyzes this automatically to predict preferences. (3) Training and intervention: we train the recommendation model in real time on your browsing behavior and adjust outputs continually; we use diverse techniques to avoid over-concentration on a single type of content. You may turn off personalized content recommendations per Section 3.1.2; afterwards we will not process your information for personalization purposes and will show only non-personalized general content. If you believe an automated decision in personalized recommendations materially affects your lawful rights, you may contact us via Section 8.2 to request explanation, and you have the right to refuse decisions made solely by automated means.
1.7 Payment and subscription services. Wemio uses a Credits + member-subscription model. When you purchase a credit pack, subscribe to membership or join the agent program: (1) Payment: payments are processed by partner third-party payment institutions (WeChat Pay, Alipay, Apple Pay, Stripe, etc.). The payment institution may need your name, ID number, bank-card type and number, and mobile number; ID and bank-card details are sensitive and required for payment — declining prevents payment but not other features. (2) Invoices and tax: when you request an invoice, we collect the title, tax ID, mailing address or email per your request. (3) Agent distribution: if you join the Wemio agent/distributor program, we collect your name, contact, bank account, tax info and (where relevant) corporate qualifications per the cooperation agreement, for commission settlement, performance and tax filing.
1.8 Other functions
1.8.1 Notifications. We may use the contact methods you provide (phone, email) to send messages, identity/security verification, UX research, and — where permitted — service, feature or activity messages of potential interest. To unsubscribe, follow the unsubscribe links in SMS or email or contact us. We push account dynamics, follow-target updates, recommendations and generation-completion notices via your device's system notifications; you can disable them in device settings.
1.8.2 Sharing and interaction. For sharing, receiving shared info or joining activities, the Wemio client may locally access your clipboard to write or read sharing tokens, codes or links to enable redirect, share or activity-linking. The client uploads such content to our servers only when it locally identifies the clipboard content as a Wemio redirect/share/activity command — clipboard or photo content otherwise is not uploaded. Some device OSes alert you that an app is reading the clipboard or photos; the alert cannot distinguish local from server upload and may include false positives — contact us if anything is unclear.
1.9 Operations and security. To keep Wemio running stably and protect users and the public: (1) we collect hardware model, OS version, device identifiers (Android: AndroidID, OAID; iOS: IDFV, IDFA — different identifiers vary in lifetime, user reset and acquisition), carrier anonymous identifier, IP, WLAN access points (SSID, BSSID), Bluetooth, base station, software version, network access type/state/quality, operation/use/service logs, sensor data; (2) to prevent malicious programs we collect installed-app lists, software lists or running-process info, app run/use frequency, crash data, install-base data, performance data and app source; (3) we may collect account info, device info and service logs from your Wemio use, and combine them with information lawfully provided by our affiliates and partners, to evaluate account and transaction safety, verify identity, identify violations and detect/prevent security incidents — taking record, analysis and disposition measures as required by law.
1.10 Cookies and similar technologies. We may use cookies, anonymous identifiers and similar technologies — solely for the purposes in this Policy — to: (1) keep the service safe and running smoothly (authentication, anti-fraud); (2) make access easier (remembering search, form-fill); (3) recommend content based on preferences and usage; (4) record activity on Wemio share pages for recommendations and incident debugging; (5) clear cookies via your browser's cache-clearing tools, though doing so may break cookie-dependent features.
1.11 Service changes. As our business evolves we may adjust products and services; if the purpose, manner or scope of personal-information processing changes, we will notify you again and obtain consent as required by law.
1.12 Statutory exemptions from consent. By law, we do not need your consent to process personal information when: (1) necessary to enter into or perform a contract you requested; (2) necessary to fulfil statutory duties (national/defense security, criminal investigation, prosecution, trial and execution); (3) necessary to respond to public-health emergencies or, in emergencies, to protect life, health and property; (4) reasonable processing for news reporting or supervision in the public interest; (5) reasonable processing of personal information you have made public yourself or that has otherwise been lawfully made public; (6) other circumstances prescribed by law. Note: information that cannot identify a specific individual alone or in combination is not personal information; once it can identify you we will treat it as personal information under this Policy.
2. Partners Involved in Data Use; Transfer and Disclosure of Personal Information
2.1 Partners involved in data use
2.1.1 Basic principles. We follow: (1) Lawfulness; (2) Legitimacy and minimum necessity — data use must have a legitimate purpose and be limited to what is necessary; (3) Security and prudence — we evaluate partners' purposes and security capabilities, require contractual compliance, and rigorously monitor SDKs and APIs they use to obtain information. The detailed third-party information-sharing list is published on Wemio's official site and client.
2.1.2 Entrusted processing. When entrusting personal-information processing we sign processing agreements with the entrusted partner per applicable law and supervise their use.
2.1.3 Joint processing. For joint processing we sign agreements that allocate rights and obligations, ensuring legal compliance and data security.
2.1.4 Scope of partners. Where features and scenarios involve our affiliates or third parties, both fall within the scope of "partners".
2.2 Cooperation scenarios
2.2.1 Realizing functions or services in Wemio. Where features in Wemio are provided by our partners, or jointly with software/device/system providers, we may use the necessary information to deliver them — including:
(1) AI model services. To offer rich AI generation we may collaborate with third-party AI model service providers. When you use such features we forward your inputs (prompts, reference images, reference videos, etc.) to the relevant model service provider on a technically necessary minimum basis, and require them to protect your information at no less than the standard of this Policy. The current list of model partners is published on Wemio's site and client.
(2) Notifications. To support push on your device, manufacturers (Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO, VIVO, etc.) may obtain device model, version and related device info via SDKs.
(3) Activity participation. With your consent, partners may need your name, mailing address, contact info and bank account to deliver rewards; we may share de-identified device info with partners to verify identity and screen for fraud.
(4) Customer service. To handle complaints, suggestions and other requests, customer-service providers may need your account and related info, and where necessary your phone number or other channels.
(5) Payment services. Provided by partner third-party payment institutions, who may need your name, ID, bank-card details and phone number; ID and bank-card details are sensitive and required for payment, with the limits noted in §1.7.
(6) Cloud storage and computing. To run Wemio reliably we use third-party cloud providers (e.g. Tencent Cloud, Alibaba Cloud) for basic compute and storage. We protect your personal info and creations stored in the cloud via encryption, access control and similar means.
2.2.2 Security and analytics: (1) Safety: partners may use device, account and log info to protect accounts and assets and to safeguard our and other users' lawful rights. (2) Product analysis: stability-analysis partners may need crash records, device identifiers and overall install/use data. (3) Academic research: with confirmed data security and legitimate purpose we may share de-identified or anonymized data with research institutes and universities.
2.3 Operator changes. As our business evolves we may merge, acquire or divest assets, possibly transferring your personal information. In such cases we require the receiving party to protect your information at no less than this Policy's standard; if they change the original purpose or method, we will require renewed consent.
2.4 Cease of operations. If we cease operating a product or service, we will stop collecting personal information immediately, deliver shutdown notices individually or by announcement, and delete or anonymize the related personal information we hold.
2.5 Public disclosure. We will not actively disclose information you have not made public yourself except as required by law or with your consent.
2.6 Statutory exemptions from consent for partner use, transfer and disclosure: same six categories as in §1.12.
3. Managing Your Personal Information
We respect and will fully protect your rights to access, copy, correct, supplement, delete, withdraw consent, deactivate your account and lodge complaints. Some features need certain information to work — once you withdraw consent, we cannot continue providing those features and will stop processing the related information; withdrawal does not affect prior processing based on your consent. The paths below apply to the latest Wemio client; paths may differ across versions or operating systems.
3.1 Settings management
3.1.1 System permissions. (1) In your device settings or in Me → Settings → Privacy Settings → App Permissions, you can grant or revoke mic, camera, photo-library and other permissions to change consent scope; revocation stops collection going forward but does not affect prior processing. (2) You can choose whether to receive Wemio's system notifications and how they appear via your device settings.
3.1.2 Personalization. (1) To stop personalized recommendations, go to Me → Settings → Privacy Settings → Personalized Recommendations and turn off "Personalized Content Recommendations". Afterwards content is shown by popularity and similar non-personalized factors; you may still browse non-personalized content. To still receive a specific account's content, follow that account and view its profile. (2) When uninterested in shown content, search for a keyword in the search bar. You can view and delete local search history after tapping the search box.
3.2 Access, correct, supplement, delete, copy or transfer your personal information. To do any of these on the personal information we hold, use Me → Settings → Help & Feedback in the client, or email info@wemio.com. If you need to transfer the personal information we hold, we will provide a transfer path per applicable law.
3.3 Deactivation and account deletion. You may apply to deactivate your Wemio account or delete account info — see the "Wemio Account Deactivation Agreement" or use Me → Settings → Account & Security → Delete Account. Before deletion or deactivation we verify your authorized identity, security state and device info. Deletion or deactivation is irreversible; afterwards we delete related info or, if technically infeasible, anonymize and stop further processing beyond storage and necessary security measures, except where law requires otherwise. Special note: after deactivation all your works, credit balance, unused membership benefits, agent commissions (if any), saves, follow relations and other data are deleted or anonymized and cannot be recovered. If you have unsettled funds or pending disputes, complete those flows first. For other questions about exercising rights, use Me → Settings → Help & Feedback or email info@wemio.com — we will review and reply within 15 working days after identity verification.
3.4 Personal information of deceased users. If a Wemio user passes away, close relatives may, in pursuit of their own legitimate interests, contact us at info@wemio.com. To exercise such rights, close relatives must follow Wemio's process: submit the deceased's ID, death certificate, the relative's own ID and proof of kinship; once verified, rights such as freezing or deletion may be exercised, except where the deceased had made other arrangements during their lifetime.
4. How We Protect Personal Information Security
We take security seriously and apply reasonable measures to protect your personal information, ensuring our processing activities meet applicable law and to prevent unauthorized access, leakage, alteration or loss.
4.1 Technical measures. We use encryption, de-identification, anonymization and other measures at no less than industry-standard levels and apply protective mechanisms to defend against malicious attacks.
4.2 Management. We maintain a dedicated security team, security-management system and data-security processes. We enforce strict data-use and access controls so that only authorized personnel access personal information; we run regular training and periodic technical and data-security audits. We have an incident-response plan for personal-information security events; if a leak, alteration or loss occurs or is likely, we activate the plan, notify you per applicable law (the type, cause and possible harm; remedies we have taken; mitigation steps you can take; how to contact us), inform you via push, email, letter, SMS or — where individual notice is impracticable — public announcement, and report disposition to relevant regulators.
4.3 Security advisory. Despite reasonable measures and compliance with required standards, no system in the internet industry can guarantee 100% security given technical limits and evolving malicious means. We will use best efforts to keep your provided information secure. The systems and networks you use to connect to us may have issues outside our control. We strongly recommend you take active steps — including not disclosing your account or related personal info to others. Once you leave Wemio to browse or use third-party products or services, we cannot directly protect any personal information you submit to those parties, regardless of how you reach them; we will alert you when entering third-party products or services so you can better protect your personal information.
5. How We Store Personal Information
5.1 Storage location. Per applicable law, personal information collected and generated during PRC operations is stored within mainland China. We will not transfer it abroad; if cross-border transfer becomes necessary, we will follow national rules — including data-export security assessment by the cyberspace authority, standard contracts, personal-information protection certification and similar mechanisms.
5.2 Retention.
5.2.1 We retain personal information only as long as necessary to provide Wemio, e.g.:
(1) Mobile number: kept while bound to your account so we can serve you, respond to inquiries and complaints, and ensure account and system security.
(2) Content you publish and related info: retained while you have not withdrawn, deleted or deactivated, to deliver continuous service.
(3) Creation-process data: scripts, drafts, storyboards and generation history are retained during your account's active period so you can access and continue creating.
5.2.2 If you deactivate, actively delete information, or information exceeds the necessary retention period, we delete or anonymize, except:
(1) where law requires retention (e.g. the E-Commerce Law requires goods, services and transaction information to be retained for at least three years from transaction completion);
(2) where reasonably extended for finance, audit or dispute resolution.
6. Minors
Wemio is for adults aged 18 or over only. (1) If you are under 18, do not register, sign in to or use Wemio in any way. We do not knowingly collect personal information of minors under 18. If we learn we have collected such information without verifiable parental or guardian consent, we will delete it as soon as possible. (2) If you are a guardian who discovers your ward has registered or used Wemio without your consent, contact us via the channels published in this Policy and we will handle the account and information per your request. (3) When publishing or generating content involving minors' likeness, voice or other info, you must obtain all necessary lawful authorizations and consents. If such content infringes minors' rights, we may handle it on notice from rights holders or for other minor-protection reasons and notify you.
7. Access to and Revision of This Privacy Policy
7.1 Access. (1) You can read this Policy at the registration/sign-in page, in the client at Me → Settings → About Wemio → Privacy Policy, or via the "Privacy Policy" link at the bottom of the Wemio web version. (2) We may build different versions for different device models, OS versions or clients; specific Wemio features may differ from descriptions here, but processing purposes, manners and scope are unaffected — actual features depend on the version you use.
7.2 Updates and notice. (1) We will revise this Policy from time to time to improve service. We will not reduce your rights under the version then in force without your express consent. (2) After updates we publish the new version and remind you via in-product messages, in-app pop-ups, email or other suitable means so you can stay current. (3) We may also help you manage personal information through feature updates — please note the corresponding feature explanations.
8. Contact
8.1 Complaints and reports. If you believe your personal-information rights may be infringed or you find evidence of infringement, use Me → Settings → Help & Feedback in the client to enter the user-feedback page, or email info@wemio.com. We will respond within 15 working days after review.
8.2 Other questions. For questions or suggestions on personal-information protection, contact us by:
